R18: Research into 1950's Fashion (female)

This video aided my research in to searching costumes and accessories for the female characters in the 1950's section of our film. From this I have learnt that, clothing and the use of material was on the more "romantic, beautiful and extravagant" side, such as velvet and viscose. Moreover, the shape of dresses and skirts were A line, where it cinched in the waist, to create the hourglass figure representing a high status. Therefore, in our costumes for the female characters we will definitely look for clothing that has an A line shape and is of viscose or velvet, most likely viscose, as it is more cost effective,
